Hardening the chocolate with coconut oil?

Has anyone ever used coconut oil make the chocolate set harder? I've made this a number of times now, and my only issue is the chocolate melting on our fingers. I'm making this this morning to take to a New Year's potluck, so anyone's experience with this would be helpful.
